Obstetrics and Gynecology:

Pathology

The department of Pathology aims to instill the concepts of etiopathogenesis, the pathological effects and the clinic- pathological correlation of various diseases. The students will be made able to correlate normal and altered morphology (gross and microscopic ) of different organ systems in different diseases to the extent needed for understanding of disease process and their clinical significance. They will be able to perform & interpret in a proper manner the basic clinico -pathological procedures. The various aspects of pathological procedures. The various aspects of pathology will be taught in a stimulating and learning environment. Besides teaching, the department of Pathology aims to establish, develop and maintain the highest standards in clinical laboratory methods and research.

A. Demonstration Room:
There are two demonstration rooms, fitted with over head projector , slide projector , television, video and other audio visual aids with a sitting capacity of 75-100 students.

B. Practical Laboratories:
There is a practical laboratory with preparation rooms. The lab is equipped with benches fitted with shelves, cupboards, sinks, water taps and electric points for microscopes for 90 students.

C. There Are Separate Service Laboratories Each For Following Factions:
1. Hematology
2. Cytopathology
3. Histopathology
In addition there is a balance room, store room and special room for high speed centrifuge and a wash room with continuous water supply..

D. Museum:
There is a spacious museum with preparation rooms displaying a variety of gross specimens of all systems . There are over 140 gross specimens with charts , models displayed in all the museum with a sitting capacity of 40 students .

E. Departmental Library:
The departmental library has over 110 books .

F. Research:
There is a well-equipped research laboratory for research for purposes.

Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy is a full fledged department that has highly experienced and dedicated faculty along with the state of art infrastructure and facilities to impart high quality, clinically relevant education in an experiential learning environment. Our sole mission is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the gross and microscopic structure and development of human body. We also aim to provide a basis for better understanding of the anatomical structure, various clinical problems and disease presentations.

A. Demonstration Room: Two demonstration rooms fitted with strip chairs -Over Head Projector,Slide Projector, Television, Video and other audio-visual aids - Accommodation for at least 75 to 100 students.

B. Dissection Hall: A well-lit dissection hall with proper ventilation including exhaust fans and air- conditioners. There is an ante-room for students with lockers and wash basins. There are adequate teaching aids in the hall. In addition, there is an embalming room which has space for 3 storage tanks and cold storage room with space for preserving dead bodies.

C. Histology: There is a Histology Laboratory with work benches fitted with water taps, sinks and cupboards for microscope storage and electric points for 100 students. There is a proper preparation room for technicians and storage of equipment.

D. Research: There is a research laboratory which is used for research purposes.

E. Museum: A museum with specimen’s racks and shelves for storing and proper display of wet and dry specimens and embryological sections, models, revolving stands for skia grams, CT scans, MRI and trolley tables, X-ray view boxes. There is adequate seating accommodation for 40 students to study in the museum. There are two attached rooms for the preparation of models/specimens and for artists and modellers. There are 15 catalogues of specimens and models.

F. Departmental Library: There is a departmental library-cum-seminar room with at least 105 books.

Physiology

We are envisioned to create dedicated, competent & compassionate doctors whose ultimate goal is to serve humanity & uphold the ideals of this noble profession. Physiology The science of life is the foundation on which clinical medicine rests. Knowledge of the intricate workings of different body systems & their complex interrelationships forms the core of the subjects. This understanding enables students to correlate between the pathology of a disease & its treatment, contributing to the development of the core skills of a competent doctor.
A. Demonstration Room: There are two demonstration rooms fitted with strip chairs. The room also consists of overhead projector, slide projector, television, video and other audiovisual aids, so as to accommodate at least 75-100 students.
B. Practical Rooms:
The following laboratories with adequate accommodation are provided to accommodate 90 students. There are three more laboratories namely-
(i) Amphibian laboratory
(ii) Mammalian laboratory
(iii) Human Laboratory
(iv) Haematology Laboratory
(v) Clinical Physiology Laboratory
C. Departmental Library: There is a departmental library-cum-seminar room with at least 80-100 book.
D. Research: There is one research laboratory for research purpose.

Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology imparts the understanding of the pharmacological basis of therapeutics to enable the future doctors to prescribe rationally i.e., without any bias. We teach the students to different type of drugs and their efforts to work actively to contribute towards the establishment of the national health goals. We train our students to develop a modern outlook so that a student can handle any situation.

There are two demonstration rooms fitted with strip chairs, overhead projector, slide projector, television, video and other audiovisual aids, to accommodate at least 75-100 students.

B. Practical Laboratories:
There are two practical laboratories with accommodation for 75-100 students each, namely:
i) Experimental Pharmacology with ante-room for smoking and varnishing of kymograph papers.
ii) Clinical pharmacology and pharmacy with one ante-room for technicians, storage of equipment and appliances and preparation room.

C. Museum:
There is a museum for specimens, charts, models, with a separate section depicting “ History of Medicine”, with a seating capacity of at least 40 students.

D. Departmental Library:
There is a departmental library-cum-seminar room with at least 125 books.

E. Research:
There is a research laboratory used for research purposes.

Microbiology

The department of Microbiology aims to produce microbiologists of excellent caliber, who have entrusted diagnostic skills of infectious etiologies. With the rapid advance of technology and its application to diagnostics, we provide timely and accurate microbiology support where precise and efficient diagnosis can make a difference in patient-care and management, thereby saving innumerable lives.

(1) Bacteriology including Anaerobic
(2) Serology
(3) Virology
(4) Parasitology
(5) Mycology
(6) Tuberculosis
(7) immunology.

D. Museum:
There is a museum for specimens, charts, models, with a sitting capacity of at least 40 students.
